Sarah and Jeff were married on April 22

Samantha Captain, the lead shooter, started out the day getting ready with Sarah and her ladies, while Bruce Preston, the second shooter, was with the guys. We also shot the video for this wedding, so we were with them from start to finish—a long day, but so amazing and worth it for the love we were able to capture.

There was something magical about the venue and the way it seemed to fit these two so perfectly—both for the ceremony itself and the reception. Some of our favorite shots were in the gazebo, with the bride and groom reflected perfectly off the water and later a night shot where the two of them seemed to blend flawlessly with their surroundings. We are always lucky to have beautiful venues as well as beautiful couples, and we’re even luckier when the two coincide.

Amanda + Jeremiah were married this past Saturday with a ceremony and reception at LaBelle Winery in Amherst, NH.  It was a beautiful sunny afternoon for their ceremony on the patio and formal photo session in the vineyard and field.

When Amanda + Jeremiah first met they were in pharmacy school.  Jeremiah was in his 3rd year and Amanda was in her 2nd.  Amanda was filling her water bottle after a Rho Chi potluck in March 2013 when Jeremiah decided to ask her out even though he had never met her before. After blindsiding her, she said yes, agreeing to a date with a handshake, and then promptly ran away. Although she was originally known as the mysterious "A-pee-too," things started going well enough to introduce her as Amanda to the family. They continued to date, graduate, enjoy their time in Freeport, Maine where they were living.

When Jeremiah proposed, it was after Amanda got back from a Euro trip with her sister and friends.  He proposed at Wolfsneck State Park in Freeport.  He filmed it on his camera and had a small bottle of champagne tucked away in his camera bag.

Together, they love long drives around Maine and usually stop at one of their favorite bagel places for breakfast before heading out.  In the summer, they enjoy golfing and beach days or just sitting on the farmers porch of their home.

Lindsay and Mark were married on May 20th, with a ceremony and reception at the Manchester Country Club in Bedford NH.

These two met at the Beer Garden in Southie (South Boston), and the two of them simply fell deeper in love with each passing day from there. They have been entirely supportive of each other, as Lindsay is a medical assistant and Mark is a gas tech at National Grid, and clearly, the two of them love to surprise each other, since Mark proposed to Lindsay and surprised her during his own surprise birthday party that she’d thrown for him!

We started off the day of the wedding photographing the bride and her ladies “getting ready” before we staged a first look between Lindsay and her father. The whole day was all the more special because Lindsay’s mom had passed away a while ago. Although it was a celebration, Lindsay and her family made sure to honor her memory at every chance.

Mark during that time was getting ready and hanging out with his best man and brother, Brian—who was not only the best man but the officiant for the ceremony. There was a closeness between those two that made the whole ceremony, as well as the rest of the day, even more special.

The Manchester Country Club itself was amazing for both the ceremony and the reception. The weather was wonderful and the light poured in through the huge windows in the ballroom. As the sun was starting to set, we snuck Lindsay and Mark out onto the green to take a few extra pictures. Kelsey and Sarah took such good care of both the bride and groom and their guests and pulled off a spectacular party!

Emily + Matt were married this past Saturday with a ceremony and reception Mad River Barn in Waitsfield, VT.  It was a beautiful day for their ceremony in the field and reception in the newly built open air barn.

Emily + Matt met online five years ago, both on their first online date.  They met for their first date at a local restaurant to enjoy two of their favorite things, burgers and beers.  While they had never met before, they quickly learned that they had much in common.  Both had a deep love for Vermont, with Emily vacationing regularly at her family’s lakeside home in Wells just a short drive away from Chester where Matt was raised.  Both now appreciate the beauty of the outdoors, though Emily was known to be a difficult camper in her younger years.  Like Emily, Matt’s mother is a special education teacher, which led to Matt discussing his mother far more than someone should ever do on a first date.  But to Matt, Emily’s continuous laughter was a sure sign that the date was going extremely well.  He would later learn that Emily just laughs at everything.  To Emily, the date was a resounding success when Matt ordered peanut butter chocolate cake for dessert, a sure sign he was a keeper.  Not wanting the date to end, Matt suggested they drive to the beach down the street from his apartment to watch the sunset. Walking together on the beach, their conversation flowed naturally and both began to feel the connection grow.  Having thoroughly enjoyed their time together, they reluctantly ended their night with a kiss and plans for a second date in a couple days.  The very next day, Matt received a call from Emily letting him know she was on her way and would arrive shortly.  Realizing the date mix up, but not wanting to embarrass her, Matt excitedly hung up the phone and began hastily preparing for their second date… two days before it was supposed to happen.  And so the sequential dates continued, for four straight days, the chemistry abundantly clear to them both.

After four years and just as Emily had begun to question if their relationship was going to take the next step, Matt convinced her to hike the tallest mountain in Vermont… at night. On May 20th the full moon rose on a completely cloudless night, and they began their hike to the top of Mt. Mansfield. After a gruelling hike in which Matt carried not one, not two, but three separate cameras and tripods to “capture the sunrise”, they reached the summit as the faintest hint of light peeked over the horizon. Nervously pulling the ring from his pocket, Matt asked Emily to join him at the summit where he dropped to one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. Their wedding day was exactly one year from the date of the proposal!

Emily + Matt are very outdoor oriented people.  Wether it's rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, scuba diving or camping, they love to get out into nature.  They are also very adventurous travelers from Belize, Utah to their honeymoon in Iceland, they love action packed experiences!

With their love of Vermont, it was fitting that Emily + Matt picked a quaint venue like Mad River Barn for their wedding.  They day was filled with lots of love and laughter and personal little details.  They had a first look down the street at a covered bride, and walked through the woods to a small river and into a field of flowers for photos.  At the reception, they had a cloud background for their photo booth, a smores station around the firepit and Matt built a swing!  They even served their guests ice cream!

Angie and Josh were married on May 28th, with a ceremony at the summit of Mount Sunapee, in Newbury, NH, with a reception on the mountain.

Josh and Angie met in high school, so they have actually known each other for 18 years! They had gone their separate ways after school, but fate pulled them back together a few years ago. So, you could say that this big day has been a long time coming, and everyone was obviously so excited to see the two of them tie the knot.

On the day of the wedding, we took a gondola up to the summit, with Bruce Preston acting as second shooter. Gondola rides are always amazing, and this was no different—and the perfect way to start out the wedding. The weather was amazing and the couple looked so excited for the day to come.

Angie and Josh opted to do a first look ahead of the ceremony, which is always fun, but this time, there was a little something different. Josh had decided to shave off his beard and mustache for the big day, and he was nearly unrecognizable!

During the ceremony itself, Angie’s sister played an original song that she had written herself. That kind of personal, emotional touch truly brought weight to the ceremony and showed how much Angie is loved by her family.

We spent much of the rest of the day with Angie and Josh through the reception admiring the scenery. We can’t say enough wonderful things about this venue—the views were breathtaking, and the mountain scenery is a photographer’s dream. When spring arrives on the mountain it is simply spectacular.

 We would also like to thank Lynda and Pipere from Mount Sunapee. They were both great to work with, and it really does make all the difference when the people running the venue can make sure the whole day proceeds as smoothly as possible.

Sophia + Tim were married over Memorial Day Weekend with a ceremony at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Dover and reception at the Hellenic Center.  It was a beautiful spring day for their wedding.

Sophia met Tim through her brother George, who has been a close friend of Tim's for the past 10 or so years.  They love going to sporting events, listening to live music, enjoy time with their dog, and with each other.

When Tim proposed, Sophia was coming home late from a church meeting on a Monday night and Tim proposed in the kitchen of their home when she walked in the door after bringing out several bouquets of flowers.

Melissa and Derek were married on June 2^nd, with a ceremony and reception at Pat’s Peak, in Henniker, New Hampshire.

They met online, and once they got together in person, that was it—they were in love. The two of them are always busy—Derek as a state trooper for New Hampshire with a distinguished military career and Melissa as a paralegal—but the thing that shines through with both of them is their love not only for each other but for other people. Both of them have dedicated their lives to service, and it was even more amazing to see that side of them come out for the people they are closest to.

Bridgett from Pat’s Peak set up a beautiful wedding for these two—perfectly true to Melissa’s idea of what she wanted her dream wedding to be like. There’s something supremely satisfying about seeing a bride so pleased with the day, and Melissa was incredibly gracious and grateful.

Of course, the only drawback was the crazy weather that we got hit with. Mother Nature put on a ridiculous show for us—yet we persevered! But in the middle of all that, the sun came out, and it lit up the world with the most amazing rainbow.

Pats' Peak - Venue 

Melissa and Derek were married this past Friday, with both their ceremony and reception at Pat’s Peak, in Henniker NH.

When Melissa + Derek first met, they had an instant connection.  Derek is a NH state trooper with a distinguished military career and Melissa works as a paralegal.  They eloped one year ago to the date of their actual wedding and Derek proposed down the street from his childhood home the night before.

They love to hang out with their dog Wesson, watch movies, play video games and spend time with family and friends.

Rebecca + Watson were married on Saturday June 3rd, with both their ceremony and reception at the Bedford Village Inn in Bedford NH.

They met in college, she was 18, he was 21. They quickly became close friends and within weeks began spending every day together. Watson took Rebecca out on amazing hikes in the mountains and she took him on adventures in the city. They complimented each other perfectly. After 3 years of dating they moved together to sunny California. They adopted a puppy and spent their days exploring this new exciting land…

Rebecca + Watson lived happily together for 3 years when they took a vacation to the Grand Cayman Islands. On a beautiful sunny day they took a walk down the beach, watching the waves crash and smelling the salty air. They stopped for a photo in front of a beautiful landscape and it was there that Watson told Rebecca how much he loved her and how he couldn't imagine his life without her. Then in front of her family and a few friends he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

After an abundance of joyous tears, in hushed tones, she said Yes!

Kate and Mike were married on June 10^th, with a ceremony and reception at the Bedford Village Inn in Bedford, NH.

It’s always nice to see old clients and their families again, and that was the case with this wedding. Ricky, whose cousin was getting married, was an old NH Images wedding client, and it was amazing to get to see him again as he did a reading for his cousin.  It’s a special honor to see those old clients still enjoying their happily ever after long after the big day that we were able to document for them. We were so happy to be invited to another event with this wonderful family.

Mike, who works at Fidelity Investments, and Kate, who works for Meditech doing company health records, were high school sweethearts. They’ve seen each other through the ups and downs of growing up and becoming adults together, and that strength and support is so obvious to see just watching the two of them. 

Before the ceremony, we set up a first look with Kate and her bridesmaids as well as one with her dad. The girls were thrilled to see their friend in her stunning wedding look, but the look on her father’s face truly took the cake. 

Then, during the ceremony, the officiant, John, read letters written by each set of parents about their child as part of the ceremony. Kate and Mike hadn’t known about it beforehand, and the surprise and pure emotion on their faces was a joy to document.  

Although we love every single one of the images from this wedding, the ones from our nighttime shoots are particularly breathtaking. Those images as well as the one shot by the fire lounge are some of the pictures we’re proudest of.

Kori + Dan were married on June 3rd at Steele Hill Resort in Sanbornton, New Hampshire.  They had the perfect day with the most majestic views.

Kori + Dan met while they were students at Keene State College.  They lived in a duplex, Kori upstairs and Dan downstairs. One day Kori went downstairs and gave Dan a beer and have been together every day since.  They love to be outside hiking or spending time at the lake.

When Dan proposed, Dan asked Kori to go on a sunrise hike. It was four o'clock in the morning and they went for a hike up Rattlesnake Mountain. Kori was not very excited about this as it was very dark. When at the top, Kori was taking pictures and turned around to Dan on one knee. Kori said "Are you serious?" She eventually said yes!

Spenser + Mary Kate got married on June 10th at the Red Barn at Outlook Farm.

They met in the fall of 2010 at Saint Joseph's College of Maine through mutual friends and officially began dating on January 25th 2011.  Soon after they started dating, they began a long distance relationship when Spenser joined the Army in 2013, and was away at training and then South Korea for year.  When Spenser was done in Korea, he was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, CO. and moved there from Korea in March 2015.  Mary Kate was able to visit him that April.

April 25th 2015, they went to a place called Crystal Creek Reservoir at Pikes Peak. They were sitting there taking in the view and talking about what the future has in store for them and that's when Spenser got down on one knee to propose...and of course Mary Kate said yes! They continued the long distance relationship from Colorado to MA until January 24th 2017 when Spenser was finally finished.

After years of long distance they honestly just love being together....grocery shopping, the gym, making dinner. They love spending time in Portland, traveling and experiencing new things as well as spending time with friends and family!

Rachel and Trevor were married on June 4^th, with a ceremony and reception at Birchwood Vineyard, in Derry, NH.

Rachel is the sales and event manager at the Mountain View Grand Resort in Whitefield, New Hampshire, while Trevor’s focus is more on cars and the need for speed. It’s always a pleasure to be asked to photograph events where a professional event manager like Rachel is involved. We know that she works with so many photographers and vendors, so choosing us out of all the other options is truly an honor.

The weather only barely held out for us at the beginning of the big day. We were lucky enough that we were able to capture the first look and portraits outside before the rain started—it would have been a shame if we hadn’t been able to show off the scenic beauty of Birchwood Vineyards! If they hadn’t opted for the first look, we wouldn’t have any outdoor pictures, and so those are among our favorites simply because we were so lucky to get them.

It wasn’t just the weather and the beautiful background that made this first look amazing, though. Trevor’s reaction to seeing Rachel for the first time was genuinely moving, the kind of response that photographers dream of when we set up first looks. 

After that, we had to hold the ceremony indoors, because it had started to rain. But even with the weather forcing us inside, we had the most beautiful subjects. We were glad to witness their harmonious union. 

Thank you, Rachel & Trevor, for letting us be part of your big day. We wish you both all the best in the rest of your lives together. Thanks also to the entire staff at Birchwood for doing a terrific job—even with the weather being uncooperative!

Kelly + Ben both work at the Oliverian School, an independent alternative boarding school for students grades 9-12, located in the mountains of Pike NH and this is where they chose to have their wedding on June 10th.

Kelly + Ben have a circle of mutual friends from growing up in neighboring towns (Saratoga Springs and Ballston Spa, NY). One weekend in August 2011, a mutual friend of theirs (Pat), asked Ben if he wanted to go see OAR with him and "a couple tall blonde girls". Ben was initially hesitant because he does not prefer that music, but the idea of "blonde girls" swayed him to go. They all hung out together at Pat's house before the concert, which was when Kelly + Ben first met. The concert was a blast and the next day, Kelly got a text from Pat asking to meet out for a drink, and she knew exactly who was behind the idea. They met out with friends a couple more times before Kelly realized she was way more excited to get texts from Ben than her best friend at the time. Soon after that Kelly + Ben started officially dating.

When Ben proposed, they had just gotten back from a long bike ride on a weirdly warm day in February. After climbing up the hill to their house, Kelly was so exhausted that she collapsed on the ground. When Ben told her he had a surprise in the house, she initially thought it was a good beer. Instead, he came out with blood orange mimosas (her fave) and as we stood sipping them, enjoying the beautiful view from their backyard (where the ceremony was held), Ben knelt down on one knee and asked her to marry him.

They both love to be outside and enjoy biking together best. They incorporate biking into any vacation they go on since that is how they like to see new places and spend our time together. Typically, their fun times together consist of biking in beautiful scenery, drinking good beer (and wine), and pigging out on pizza.

They had the most beautiful day for their wedding ceremony and tented reception, complete with rustic details and YES dinner was catered by Woodbelly Pizza, a mobile wood-fired pizza company!!

Kate + Mike first met in high school during their freshman year and started dating at the end of the year. One of Kate's best friends was also Mike's neighbor growing up.

In their free time, Mike likes golfing and watching sports. Kate likes exercising -indoors and outside- and reading.  They both like exploring new restaurants, wineries, etc. and spending time with friends and family.

Laura + Tyler met in college through their roommates who were dating.  It never really went anywhere and 6 years later they reconnected on Facebook and Tyler cut his hair.  Then they finally went on their first date.

Separately, Ty loves to golf and Laura teaches both dance and fitness classes. Together, they love hiking, the beach, going to concerts, the Bruins, and anything that involves their dog, Neely (who was in the wedding of course!)

Whey Ty proposed, Laura had come home from getting coffee with a friend and there were rose petals on the floor from the kitchen into the living room. Their dog, Neely, was dressed in a tux with a sign asking if Tyler could officially be his dad and she said "of course!" and here we are!

Caila + Lucas met their freshman year in college at Colby Sawyer. His good friend Brett was dating Caila's roommate. Lucas came into her dorm room with Brett and his other good friend Travis when Caila was sitting at her desk working on some homework. Lucas always tells Caila that he knew she was the one the second he walked into the room and saw her.

As a couple, they like to spend a lot of time outdoors kayaking, hiking and spend time at Caila's family lake house in Naples, Maine.

When Lucas decided to propose, it was Christmas Eve and they were celebrating the holiday with both of their families. Lucas pulled Caila aside and asked her to go ride around to look at all the Christmas lights in town. They drove to the Nubble Light house in York, Maine to look at the lights and he told her they were going there because she had never been there before. They looked at the lights for a little bit and then Lucas told her that he wanted to give her a  Christmas present. He handed her a large box and she found box after box inside until she got to the smallest box. Inside was a letter that talked about how much he loved her, why he loved her and the last line said "I can’t wait to be standing up on the alter with you."  With the reading of the last line, that's when Lucas got down on one knee and popped the question!!

Whitney + Alberto met in college at Saint Joseph's College of Maine.

As a couple, they love to travel, go to sport events (Patriots and Celtics) and the gym, go out to dinner and a movie or just hang out with friends.

When Alberto proposed, it was New Years Eve 2015.  They had dinner reservations at The Palm Restaurant in Boston and after parking, they were walking towards the restaurant when Alberto whispered in Whitney's ear "look to your right" and her parents and his parents came from behind a bush and yelled "SURPRISE!" They were all hugging each other and then Alberto started talking about their relationship. He got down on one knee, popped the question, and Whitney of course said YES! Afterwards, they all went to dinner and then went back to Alberto's parents house for an engagement party.

Jaimy + Adam first met while studying abroad at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

As a couple, they love to travel, play softball and volleyboll, play card/board games, rock climb, hike and have get togethers with friends.

When Adam proposed, they were in Northern Ireland across the famous rope bridge: Carrick-a-rede.

Jaimy + Adam were married at The Oaks, on Friday June 23rd.  As you can see, they are very adventurous people who love to explore the world.  The travel theme carried through from their ceremony and into their reception details.  It was such an honor to share in their day.  Enjoy the Sneak Peek Film!  {Jaime + Matt}

Once upon a time Brittany + Scott met in high school and through the years fell in love. That love brought us all together on June 30th for an amazing wedding at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH. Even before the wedding happened, Brittany + Scott mentioned they were really looking forward to seeing all of their friends and family in one place. Currently our couple lives in California so seeing everyone is not an easy everyday happening.

Photography wise, we covered the important parts of the day from getting ready to the reception. Although there was no specific maid of honor or best man there was plenty of fun with a bridal party of 11 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen!

The ceremony was up at the summit of Loon Mountain. The views are absolutely amazing, and after a touching ceremony we had pictures of family, bridal party and our couple to get done. The challenge with all of this is there were severe thunderstorms all around us. If there was even a rumble of thunder, the gondola would shut down for 45 minutes…thus threatening the day. So we literally finished an hours worth of photos in 15 minutes…I’m still sweating! As soon as we made it down it started to rain and rain hard…phew…we made it!

Everyone danced the night way, and DJ Smooth (aka Jeremy from Get Down Tonight Entertainment) had everyone hopping. We wish our couple all the happiness in the world!! We would like to thank Alex + Stacy from Loon Mountain for doing such an excellent job managing the day…there was great team work all around. Cheers!
